I’ve been experimenting with my little photo printer

Postcard-sized photographs lie on a green cutting mat next to a white Apple Pencil. The photographs feature a scene of a cloudy sky backlit by pink, orange, and lilac hues from the sunrise. In the forground, trees, houses, and a telephone pole with radiating cables are silouetted against the sky.

I’ve been experimenting with my little photo printer.

I’m just printing out a couple of postcards and I’m trying to get the output to match what’s on my iPad screen. The first prints were dull and lacking in the blues especially.

At first I was using the on-printer settings. But it seems better to re-process the photo on my iPad for export to the printer. For this photo I’m boosting everything. All the sliders. Well. A few of them.

I’m happy with the result. It’s not about photographic perfection. These are not going up in a gallery. It’s just about playing and creating something new and personal with them.

Of course, documenting this with my phone has further boosted the colours. So.. eh. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway. It felt good to spend time with this today and enjoy the process.
